This summer I went to a Reef convention thing at the Orange County Fairgrounds. I went with the intention of picking up some frags and checking out other’s setups. I ended up bringing home a 3 Gallon Pico that had a built in 18w 10k / Atinic bulb, and a jankly little filter.
I tossed the filter and went to the LFS and picked up a few pounds of live rock and siphoned out some sand from my tank and set it up. I also picked up a pair of (tiny!) clowns and a camelback shrimp.
I setup this tank in my office at home. I don’t use this often enough, as a result - I decided to stop using it as I was worried that it was going to fall into disrepair.
After a short hiatus - I set it up on my desk at work. Filled it with water and Aquasoil and made an order for some plants. It has been doing great, even without a filter. The tank pearls O2 daily. I dose Excel about once a week (a capfull) in addition to the Kent trace mixture. I have it on a timer from 8am-8pm daily. Enjoy the pics below.
