Wiiiiiiiii!
Mike Joyce | November 1, 2008I just finished up some contract work and I decided to reward myself in the form of some retail therapy. Today I picked myself up a Wii, Wii Fit, Mario Kart (and wheels), Mario Galaxy, Wii Sports, and Wii Games. Let me just say that playing MarioKart made me LOL (alone, embaressing?) like 5 or 6 times. It is such a hoot to play. I am really really very impressed on how awesome the gameplay is. I was expecting the wheel steering to be subpar.
Mario Galaxies is also a HOOT to play. Nintendo really know how to make a game with amazing gameplay. The whole game takes place in space on these little planets. and as you walk around them the force of gravity changes and so you flop around with different perspectives of “down” it really takes some getting used too.
Last night I went to a party at the UCI campus on a whim. I did not have a costume, everyone else did. I put on my sunglasses and walked around flashing my european car keys, “OC Douchebag”. It was a hit, because everyone, and I mean EVERYONE at the party was a Ph.D student, they all assumed that I was one as well. So they all believed me when I pulled out my “Fake Key Fob” and played the part of the OC Douchebag. It ended up that myself, Tome Raider (Laura-Craft English Ph.D Girl) and Reno 911 (Sexy Cop Stem Cell Ph.D girl) ran around dubbing everyone else with silly names, stealing hats, and sticking true to the “OC Douchebag” routine. I had a GREAT TIME.
Also, it should be noted that there were a good 20 English Ph.D Students. I would say at least 5 of them were “Joycian Ph.D’s” I had never heard the term before – but apparently people write Thesis papers on the works of good old James, radical!
